Leonidas was a warrior king of the Greek city-state of Sparta, known for his bravery and leadership in the Battle of Thermopylae against the Persian Empire in 480 BC. He and his 300 Spartan soldiers famously held off a much larger Persian army for several days before ultimately being defeated. Leonidas is remembered as a symbol of resistance and courage in the face of overwhelming odds.
